I suppose I'm going to get some discussion of my first post, but, never the less, going to try and forge on. I just bought a Victory Blast yak for my first venture, I know, it's the very low end and not what everyone has, but, at my age and with absolutely no idea what I"m doing, that's what I"m starting with. I've seen a few of this type in the Fremont area, hence, the reason I have it. So far, I've seen 5 of this kind at the State lakes West of Fremont. Most of the people are pretty young that have them and sure seem to enjoy them. I want to put on a pole holder sometime in the near future and was wondering how I could go about it? Any advise sure would be appreciated. Thanks: Darryl:

There's one for sale on Ebay that has a rod holder mounted on it. Looks like they mounted it on the deck on the left side. Here's a link to the auction so you can see how they did it. cgi.ebay.com/Victory-blast-kayak-with-paddles_W0QQitemZ190025695913QQcmdZViewItemI just got my first kayak 2 weeks ago so I'm pretty new to this as well. I've had it out 4 times now and have been reluctant to leave the water every time.

Thank you rigger for the picture and answering. At least now, I know a surface mount is the way to go. I'm surprized with 16 "looksee" I never got more answers, perhaps, it's the yak I bought. Too late now. Thank again.

Ram makes a nice one. It is easy to install and you can put it anywhere on a small flat surface. You would drill about three or four holes. I think there is a good one at kayakfishingstuff.com.
